Fusion Flare
has its origin in a suburban Community
Development & Upliftment Project that was started in October 2013. A
year later it is time to get intentional and sustainable
Fusion
is the process or result of joining two or more things together to form a single entity
Flare
is a sudden brief burst of bright flame or light
At the core of the final artworks there is a
collaboration of ethne* and cultures** which produced something new and beautiful.
It was made possible as a direct result of the
freedom and opportunity all people have in South Africa today.
ethne - people of the same race or nationality who share a distinctive culture
culture - the total range of activities and ideas, beliefs, values and knowledge of a group of people with shared
traditions, which are transmitted and reinforced by members of the group;
the artistic and social
pursuits, expression, and tasted valued by a society or class, as in the arts,
manner, dress etc.
The choice to create meaning & beauty is a privilege each artist has
Passion for colors,
shapes, lines, patterns, textures and perhaps a message PLUS the excitement of a new day with all of
its creative possibilities, becomes a way of expressing life
We are here but for a season, why should we not give of our best and be the best to each other?
